Siliconix Releases First 20-V and 30-V N-Channel TrenchFET Gen III Power MOSFETs WithTurboFET TechnologyThe 20-V SiS426DN device offers the industry's lowest on-resistance times gate charge for a device with this voltage rating in the 3-mm by 3-mm PowerPAK® 1212-8 footprint. This key figure of merit (FOM) for MOSFETs in dc-to-dc converters is 76.6 m-nC at 4.5 V and 117.60 m-nC at 10 V for the SiS426DN, which features a low typical gate charge of 13.2 nC at a 4.5-V gate drive and 28 nC at a 10-V gate drive. Tokyo, Japan, August 30, 2006—Asahi Kasei Microsystems Co., Ltd. (AKM), a leading supplier of audio ICs for professional and consumer markets, today launches the AK4220, in-vehicle AV switcher. It incorporates an audio and video matrix, providing switching functionality for car navigation systems integrating home music-system performance. The new chip is a part of AKM’s Audio4homeTM range.
To maintain a competitive positioning in today’s market trend, car navigation systems now require more than just a GPS function. Functioning as high-quality AV switcher, the AK4220 integrates a 7:3 audio switch, a 6:3 video switch and video output drivers, thereby easily allowing the output of car navigation system functions for the driver and a choice of various high-performance AV functions for the passengers.
Differential audio inputs are supported and an on-chip audio pop noise free circuit is included to eliminate clicks and bumps during power on/off. The video section supports CVBS signals and has a built-in 6dB amplifier with 150ohm driver. Because the audio and video input sections feature an integrated input signal detection circuit, input selectors can be automatically and externally controlled using the result of detection. The AK4220 is controlled via a Serial µP I/F supporting I2C and 4-wire serial.
With the number of versatile input sources increasing, the AK4220 allows for the switching of television tuner, DVD player, Radio and for the switching signals from one, or more rear view cameras, for example. Since three AV outputs are available, the AK4220 can support an entertainment system of up to three rows of seats, now common in many “People Carriers”.
The AK4220 is available in a 64-pin LQFP package. Evaluation boards and samples are available now. To obtain more information, contact AKM, Audio & Video Business Operation, Nishi-Shinjuku 1-23-7, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0023, Japan.
