Siliconix Releases First 20-V and 30-V N-Channel TrenchFET Gen III Power MOSFETs WithTurboFET TechnologyThe 20-V SiS426DN device offers the industry's lowest on-resistance times gate charge for a device with this voltage rating in the 3-mm by 3-mm PowerPAK® 1212-8 footprint. This key figure of merit (FOM) for MOSFETs in dc-to-dc converters is 76.6 m-nC at 4.5 V and 117.60 m-nC at 10 V for the SiS426DN, which features a low typical gate charge of 13.2 nC at a 4.5-V gate drive and 28 nC at a 10-V gate drive. Tokyo, Japan, May 16, 2006—Asahi Kasei Microsystems Co., Ltd. (AKM), a leading supplier of audio ICs for professional and consumer markets today introduced the AK4343 a new product of Audio2goTM family. This single-chip, 16-bit stereo D/A converter with high-quality audio playback features for use in cell phones with music players, portable personal media players, portable TVs and digital radios.
The new AK4343 features a built-in high power 1.2 W speaker amplifier and 70mW pop noise free headphone amplifier with ALC and stereo separation emphasis circuits.
AKM’s original digital ALC circuit automatically adjusts the volume of music sources used for cell phone ring tones. The digital stereo emphasis circuit emphasises the stereo separation of music played back through the speakers on the small equipment such as cell phones.
A three input analog mixing circuit with gain amplifier allows mixing analog signals such as the FM radio signal and beep signal to the headphone/speaker amplifier output. The stereo line output can also be switched to a differential mono receiver output. The AK4343 can drive 8-ohm loudspeaker and 32-ohm dynamic receiver simultaneously.
The built-in PLL is compatible with various cell phone standards, USB and video system clock frequencies and can generate the internal frequencies for audio playback, making it easy to synchronise the clock with the application processor of cell phones or smart phones. The power management function switches the power to each circuit block on or off independently and the µP interface is 3-wire and I2C bus compatible. Audio sampling ranges from 7.35 Hz to 48 kHz, the operating voltage of the DAC section ranges from 2.6 to 3.6 volts and the operating voltage of the amplifier section ranges from 2.6 to 5.25 volts.
The AK4343 has pin and software compatibility with AK4643, stereo CODEC version. The AK4343 is available in a small 32-pin QFN package. Evaluation boards and samples are available now.
