Siliconix Releases First 20-V and 30-V N-Channel TrenchFET Gen III Power MOSFETs WithTurboFET TechnologyThe 20-V SiS426DN device offers the industry's lowest on-resistance times gate charge for a device with this voltage rating in the 3-mm by 3-mm PowerPAK® 1212-8 footprint. This key figure of merit (FOM) for MOSFETs in dc-to-dc converters is 76.6 m-nC at 4.5 V and 117.60 m-nC at 10 V for the SiS426DN, which features a low typical gate charge of 13.2 nC at a 4.5-V gate drive and 28 nC at a 10-V gate drive. WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., July 25, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- DiodesIncorporated ("Diodes") (Nasdaq: DIOD), a leading manufacturer and supplier ofhigh quality discrete and analog semiconductors, today announced theintroduction of its high-current density PowerDI(TM)323 product platform withthe release of new Schottky Rectifiers and Zener products. The PowerDI(TM)323product platform meets the growing demand for portability by providingsmaller, more efficient discrete devices.
The PowerDI(TM)323 is among the smallest power packages ever introduced inthe power rectifier market. It features a footprint of 2.37mm2 and a profileheight of 0.7mm, which is 33% lower than current products. Its flat heat sinkprovides optimal thermal contact and achieves best-in-class power performance. The internal lead frame of the PowerDI(TM)323 is 150% larger than the standardSOD-323 and enables increased forward conduction current to pass through thedie at a lower power consumption rate. Diodes' new PowerDI(TM)323 PD3SSchottky Rectifiers are designed to improve efficiency and enableminiaturization of the DC/DC converters in small portable electronics, such asmobile phones, digital audio players and digital cameras.
"With the release of the new PowerDI(TM)323 product platform, Diodescontinues to extend its leadership position as an innovator in the discretemarket," commented Mark King, Diodes' Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing. "Theintroduction of the PowerDI(TM)323 product platform builds on the success ofour innovative PowerDI product platform that was initiated with the popularPowerDI(TM)5 and PowerDI(TM)123 product lines. As a result of advancemarketing efforts at selected key accounts, we have already received notice ofour first PowerDI(TM)323 design win into a next-generation digital audioplayer platform."
In addition, Diodes has extended the PowerDI(TM)323 platform to the Zenermarket with the PD3Z284C series. The initial release of 5.1 to 12 Volt Zenerdevices in this new efficient compact package is just the start, as Diodesprepares to roll out Zener devices in voltages that range from 2.4 up to36 Volts before the end of 2006.
Diodes, Inc. plans to expand the package platform to include TVS devicesas well as additional Schottky products by the end of this year.
