Vishay Upgrades 5-V Infrared Receiver Series

Vishay Intertechnology (NYSE: VSH) today announced that it is upgrading the performance of its 5-V infrared receivers with a new-generation IC that increases sensitivity of the device by 15 % while improving pulse width accuracy. International Rectifier's Mexico Facility Earns MIL-PRF-19500 JANTX/TXV Assembly Certification

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — January 2006 — International Rectifier IR® (NYSE: IRF), a world leader in power management technology, today announced that its manufacturing facility located in Tijuana Mexico, Rectificadores Internacionales S.A. de C.V., was recently awarded Joint Army Navy (JAN) JANTX and JANTXV certification by Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC).

IR’s JAN certification, certifying compliance to MIL-PRF-19500 and MIL-STD 750, allows IR to offer Qualified Products List (QPL) versions of its HEXFET® power MOSFETs for government and space applications. JANTX and JANTXV are stringent quality and reliability levels designated by the US Department of Defense for discrete power semiconductor devices. QPL is the US Department of Defense’s list of standard semiconductor products produced by certified suppliers in accordance with government performance. Suppliers are audited periodically, thus certifying that all customers will receive products that meet government standards.

Bel Lazar, vice president of International Rectifier's HiRel Operations, said, “Earning JAN certification reinforces IR's position as a premiere supplier of high-reliability products for the government and space market.”
