National Semiconductor Offers Designers a Higher-Performance Alternative to Lossy Linear Solutions for Bias Supplies up to 150 mA
LM5009 is a New 150mA, 100V Step-Down Switching Regulator
April 26, 2006 -- National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE: NSM), a worldwide leader in power management technology, today introduced the LM5009, a monolithic step-down switching regulator with all the functions needed to implement a cost-effective, efficient power supply. Capable of driving up to a 150 mA load over a 9V- to 100V-input voltage range, this device provides an alternative to lossy linear solutions without the added complexity.
The LM5009 is ideal for use in 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V rectified AC systems, 42V automotive solutions and non-isolated AC charge-coupled supplies. It also can be used as a heat sink eliminator for a classic linear regulator and as an LED current source.
