Vishay Siliconix Releases New 20-V and 30-VP-Channel Power MOSFETs With Industry’s Lowest On-ResistanceThe devices will be used as the adaptor switch and for load switching applications in notebook computers and industrial/general systems. Adaptor switches (switching between the adaptor/wall power and the battery power) are always on and drawing current. The lower on-resistance of the Si7135DP and Si7633DP translates into lower power consumption, saving power and prolonging battery life between charges. [Read more...] |
The TPS62560 device is an efficient synchronous step-down dc-dc converter optimized for battery-powered applications. It provides up to 600-mA output current from a single Li-Ion cell and is ideal to power mobile phones and other portable applications.
With a wide input voltage range of 2.5 V to 5.5 V, the device supports applications powered by Li-Ion batteries with extended voltage range, two- and three-cell alkaline batteries, 3.3-V and 5-V input voltage rails.
The TPS62560 operates at 2.25-MHz fixed switching frequency and enters power-save mode operation at light load currents to maintain high efficiency over the entire load-current range.
The power-save mode is optimized for low output-voltage ripple. For low-noise applications, the device can be forced into the fixed-frequency PWM mode by pulling the MODE terminal high. In shutdown mode, the current consumption is reduced to less than 1 µA. TPS62560 and TPS62561 allow the use of small inductors and capacitors to achieve a small solution size.
The TPS62561 operates in a forced fixed-frequency PWM mode, allowing simple filtering of the switching frequency, e.g. for noise sensitive applications.
The TPS62560 is available in a 2-mm × 2-mm 6-terminal SON package, and TPS62561 is available in a 5-terminal TSOT-23 package.
