MAX5965A, MAX5965B - High-performance, monolithic quad PSE controller enables IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) applicationsThis device allows multiport PoE systems to deliver up to 45W over standard Cat5 Ethernet cable to power devices such as IP phones, wireless LAN access nodes, and IP cameras. The controller is well suited for both endpoint (LAN switches/routers) and midspan (power injectors) PSE applications. [Read more...] |
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA — April 22, 2009 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of two new wet tantalum capacitors that are the industry’s first such devices to be offered in a true surface-mountable molded package.
The M34 and M35 wet tantalum electrolytic chip capacitors incorporate the advantages of all the varieties of electrolytic capacitors and eliminate most of the disadvantages. The devices have a higher ripple current capability than any other electrolytic type with similar combinations of capacitance and case size. In addition, the M35 features a 3-V reverse voltage capability at + 85 °C.
Optimized for power supplies in all avionics, military, and space applications that currently use Vishay’s ST -T1 (M34) or 135D- C/T1 (M35) case ratings, the devices’ new surface-mountable case allows designers to eliminate the last through-hole component on their PCB, reducing overall PCB assembly cost.
With a wide capacitance range of 10 µF at 125 V to 120 µF at 25 V for the M34, and 1.7 µF at 125 V to 220 µF at 6 V for the M35, the devices feature all industry-standard T1 wet tantalum ratings. The capacitors offer tin/lead or 100 % tin (RoHS- complaint) terminations.
The M34 and M35 operate over a temperature range of - 55 °C to + 85 °C, and up to + 125 °C with voltage derating. The devices offer a ± 20 % standard capacitance tolerance at 120 Hz and + 25 °C, with tolerances of ± 5 % and ± 10 % also available.
Samples and production quantities of the new surface mountable, wet tantalum capacitors are available now, with lead times of approximately 20 weeks for larger orders.
