Zarlink’s ZL33050 Ethernet ClassSwitch is a highly integrated 24 FE + 4 GE port device aimed at reducing design cost and complexity while speeding time-to-market for network access equipment that must aggregate, inspect and modify real-time packet-based applications.Delivering embedded memory with protection switching and per-flow QoS features in a single chip, the ZL33050 switch supports the seamless delivery of advanced services, including end-to-end VLAN, over last mile networks.The device support the ability to expand frame buffer memory using DDR-SDRAM for applications requiring additional traffic burstiness, complex congestion control and advanced traffic shaping. Protection switching rapidly detects link or path errors and reroutes traffic to ensure network failures are virtually transparent to end-users.The ZL33050 chips powerful QoS functions, including programmable input/output rate control, traffic policing and flow metering, support mission-critical applications and allow carriers to better manage bandwidth and meet SLAs.

• Up to 24 10/100 Mpbs auto-negotiated FE ports with RMII and SMII interface options
• Up to 4 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiated GE ports with GMII, TBI and MII interface options
• Embedded 3.25 Mbits (480 Kbytes) internal memory for control databases and frame data buffer, supports jumbo frames up to 9 Kbytes (frame data buffer can be extended to 64 Mbytes)
• Support for SLAs based on Ethernet Type, VLAN IEEE 802.1p,IP priority Type of Service (ToS, DSCP), L4 logical port numbers
• Per-flow two-rate, three-color metering and policing
• Flexible scheduling algorithms manage packets and prioritize queued traffic
• Industrial-grade qualification
