HONG KONG, March 4, 2008 -- Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) today announced that Alfred Chow has been appointed regional director of Marketing and Applications for Asia. Chow will be responsible for all marketing launch activities in Asia, and will work closely with Cypress's distribution and catalog partners in Asia. He will drive new customer acquisition, training, web marketing, public relations and technical support for PSoC® and other Cypress products. He reports to vice president of Global Marketing and Applications, Geoff Charubin.
Chow has over 15 years of industry experience. He joins Cypress from Xilinx, where he was senior product solutions marketing manager of Asia Pacific. In his role at Xilinx, he was responsible for outbound marketing strategies, collateral creation, training and media strategies. Prior to Xilinx, Chow was Asia Pacific sales manager for Synopsys and was an IC designer for ATI Technology. Chow holds a BSEE degree from the University of Wisconsin, an MSEE from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the City University of Hong Kong.
