Eindhoven, The Netherlands, 3 April, 2008 - NXP Semiconductors, the independent semiconductor company founded by Philips, today announced that with effect from 1st May, Peter Geiselhart will join NXP's Automotive & Identification Business Unit as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Car Entertainment Solutions. Peter’s role will focus on strengthening and building upon NXP's global leadership position in analog and digital radio in cars.
“Peter's appointment highlights NXP's commitment towards strengthening its lead in automotive audio / radio and expanding into fast-growing car applications in multimedia, navigation and connectivity, leveraging its capabilities from other consumer electronic domains. We are pleased to have an experienced leader in car infotainment and product development join the team,” commented Marc de Jong, executive vice president and general manager of NXP's Automotive and Identification Business Unit.
In his previous role, Peter worked as chief technical officer and general manager for Harman / Becker, overseeing all business activities in Europe and global product development. Peter will report to Marc de Jong and will be based in Hamburg, Germany.
