National Semiconductor Elects John T. Dickson to Board of Directors

April 4, 2006 -- National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today announced the election of John T. Dickson to the board of directors.  Dickson, 60, is the former president and CEO of Agere Systems, a global leader in storage, wireless data and networks based in Allentown, Pa.

Dickson serves on the board of directors of Mettler-Toledo International, Inc., and previously served as a board member of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).
