June 2, 2008. O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ®: OIIM; SEHK: 0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components and systems, was issued 18 claims under United States patent number 7,343,484 for its PC Integrated with a PDA architecture.
This patented PC/PDA architecture enables a notebook or desktop computer to include the convenience of a traditional PDA user interface. This patent highlights the interdependencies of the operating systems for PC and PDA functions, relating to the audio, storage, and other shared subsystems.
"This patented architecture is significant as notebook PC systems offer an auxiliary display for convenient access to digital content including music, calendar, instant messages, and other traditional features found on a PDA," commented, Max Huang, executive vice president, O2Micro.
