O₂Micro's patented power conservation method enables a desktop or portable computer user to access digital content such as movies and music on the computer system, during extremely low power states. The details of the invention pertain to the subsystems necessary to render audio and video information, such as DRAM access. With the implementation of O2Micro’s enhanced architecture, services that would otherwise be unavailable in low power states can be accessed.
