Sea View Technologies has announced the addition of Dr. Ali Rahimi to the latest in its series of Worldwide RoHS/WEEE seminars.
The company will host the seminar on October 5, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency, Santa Clara, CA, in conjunction with the California Environmental Protection Department of Toxic Substances Control.
Dr. Ali Rahimi is currently responsible for implementation of RoHS/WEEE requirements at JDSU Corporation for all products used in Optical Communication Network Equipment. His presentation will include the actions that were taken at JDSU to assure product compliance with the EU RoHS/WEEE directives. Prior to his current position, Dr. Rahimi held technical and managerial positions with Seagate, Quantum, and IBM. His engineering team at Quantum pioneered the application of hard disk drives in Digital Video Recording (DVR) Systems such as TIVO Set Top Box.
A high turnout is expected as many companies try to cope with this demanding initiative while the clock is ticking. The seminar will include an overview of RoHS and WEEE, why they were enacted, a comparative study of worldwide and California developments, case studies, followed by a Q & A Session.
