Underwriters Laboratories holds RoHS seminar
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. will hold a semianr entitled, “Being RoHS Compliant: Using it to Your Advantage,” on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 from 8:30 to 12:00 at the company’s facilities in San Jose, Calif. The cost is $50, payable to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The seminar will look at the imapct of the European Union RoHS directive, the China RoHS law, Japan’s JGPISSI and the collective state laws in the United States. Speakers will address the corporate approach to RoHS compliance, as well as how to position products that are RoHS compliant as a sales advantage over competitive products that are not compliant. The seminar is aimed at company leaders, directors of international sales, marketing managers and compliance directors.
Speakers include Greg Monty, director of technology & regulation for restricted substances at Underwriters Laboratories, talking on global directories. David Towne, director of engineering technologies & services from Sun Microsystems will present a case study. Vincent Sylverster, North America regional business managers of restricted substances company colutions from Underwriters Laboratories will dicusss the RoHS advantage.
